Job description

Think Big and become a GAMECHANGER

portagon is the leading distribution platform for alternative investments in the private capital market. With our standardized end-to-end software solution and our unique digital marketplace, we are transforming the private capital market and creating an environment where alternative assets are as accessible and transparent as public investments.

Do you want to grow with us and take your career to the next level? Then you’re exactly where you need to be!

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a passionate (Senior) QA Engineer (f/m/d) who will take our software to the next level with great attention to detail, technical understanding, and a strong commitment to quality.

What we offer you

  • Flexible working – with individual working time models, mobile office options, and a permanent employment contract. You will also enjoy 30 days of vacation to fully recharge.

  • Deutschland-Ticket – for your daily commute to the office, plus the option to lease a job bike.

  • State-of-the-art equipment – MacBook, modern tools, and a high-quality workspace right in the heart of downtown Frankfurt.

  • Referral bonus – €3,000 when your referral successfully starts with us on a permanent contract.

  • Virtual share option program – share in the success you help create through our virtual stock options.

  • Monthly meal allowance – €66 per month via Pluxee, so you’re well taken care of and flexible when it comes to lunch.

  • Corporate benefits – exclusive online discounts through our Corporate Benefits portal.

  • Feel-good culture with an energy boost – a fully stocked office kitchen, fitness sessions, and active breaks for body and mind.

  • Team spirit that connects – whether it’s console gaming, foosball, or table tennis: we work and laugh together. Regular team events and an annual offsite strengthen our sense of connection.

  • Exclusive insights into the world of finance – as part of our team, you’ll benefit from unique expertise and direct access to innovative investment topics.

  • Personal development – with targeted training opportunities and plenty of room to grow and evolve.

What to expect from us

  • As a (Senior) QA Engineer (f/m/d), you will take responsibility for sustainable and comprehensive quality assurance of our software from A to Z.

  • You will thoroughly review and approve all new features to ensure everything works exactly as it should.

  • You will reproduce, document, and manage software bugs throughout the entire lifecycle of our web applications.

  • You will build and further develop an automated end-to-end test suite (e.g., using Cypress) to sustainably ensure the high quality of our software.

  • You will work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to deeply understand our applications and accurately capture dependencies and interactions.

  • Beyond testing, you will write release notes and knowledge articles to ensure that all stakeholders are informed about functionalities, changes, and known issues.

  • You have an eye for detail, but never lose sight of the bigger picture — you look beyond the obvious and track down even the most persistent bugs.

  • You support your team with constructive feedback and promote a strong QA mindset throughout the entire development process.

Job requirements

What we’re looking for

  • You bring several years of experience in QA or software testing, ideally in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • You have a degree in (Business) Informatics, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification. But: career changers with unconventional profiles are very welcome — as long as you have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working with software.

  • You already have hands-on experience with the Ruby on Rails stack or are eager to quickly dive into new technologies.

  • You have initial experience with testing systems such as Cypress or Selenium.

  • You have basic knowledge of at least one programming language (preferably JavaScript) or are motivated to acquire it.

  • You love diving into details, understanding functional connections, and clearly documenting them — for example in release notes or internal knowledge articles.

  • You work in a structured and independent manner and never lose track, even in complex processes.

  • You find the FinTech world exciting and are eager to get involved where there’s real impact to be made.

  • If not everything applies to you: be bold! We believe that people with curiosity, precision, and a passion for quality can make a huge contribution.

What matters to us

  • We are committed to evaluating every person based on their skills, regardless of age, gender, identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, or religion.

  • From day one, you can make a real impact with us: using the OKR method, we define our strategic goals together and determine the actions needed to achieve them.

If you’re looking for a team you can truly count on — not just coworkers, but friends, then you’re in the right place. Go together is one of our core values: team spirit is the key to tackling our biggest challenges. We achieve success together and celebrate it together.

Give your career a Go!

We look forward to receiving your application, including your desired starting date.

Our People Team will get back to you as soon as possible — usually within 48 hours. Should it take a little longer, we kindly ask for your understanding.
